Privacy policy
The TxWorkshop app collects no data about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking in the app. This website counts visits without cookies; see This website.
Effective 14 October 2026. This policy covers the TxWorkshop app for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, from the App Store and from this site, and this website, txworkshop.app.
What stays on your device
- Documents are files you save, where you choose: on the device or in your iCloud Drive. Kingpin Apps never sees them.
- API keys for chain providers are kept in your Keychain, on that device only, unless you turn on Sync with iCloud (below).
- Signing keys you add, from a recovery phrase or a key file, are kept in your Keychain, and used only after Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID or your passcode. They are never written to a document or sent anywhere.
- Settings, such as your providers, network and explorer, stay on the device, unless you turn on Sync with iCloud.
- Blueprints you import are kept in the app's own storage on the device, and a copy goes in each document that uses one.
Sync with iCloud
Off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, your providers, their API keys and your block explorer choice are kept in your own iCloud account, so your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account see them. API keys go in iCloud Keychain, end-to-end encrypted. This goes through Apple; Kingpin Apps never receives it. Signing keys, and a local node or cardano-cli, never sync.
What the app sends, and only when you use it
The app talks to other services only to do what you ask. Kingpin Apps runs none of them and receives nothing from them.
| Service | When | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Your chain provider: Blockfrost, Koios, Ogmios, Kupo, Yaci DevKit, or your own cardano-node | When you look up inputs, fetch chain data, build, or submit | Addresses, transaction ids and transactions, with your API key where the provider needs one |
| Koios's public API | When you fetch a transaction by id on a network where you have no provider | The transaction id |
| The Cardano token registry (tokens.cardano.org) | When a transaction has native assets | The assets' policy ids and names, to look up their registered names |
The address in a governance anchor, or the ipfs.io gateway for ipfs:// anchors | When you check an anchor or compute its hash | A download request for that document |
| A block explorer you choose | Only when you open a link to it | The page you asked for, opened in your browser |
| GitHub (Mac download only) | When the app checks for updates | A request for the update feed, with the app's version |
Like any internet request, each of these also shows the service your IP address. Each of these services has its own privacy policy. Everything on the Cardano blockchain is public by design: a transaction you submit, and the addresses in it, can be seen by anyone.
Hardware and permissions
- Bluetooth and USB are used only to talk to a Ledger or Trezor you connect.
- The camera is used only to read a Keystone wallet's QR codes; images are read on the device and not kept.
- Face ID, Touch ID and Optic ID are handled by Apple; the app only learns whether you passed.
This website
txworkshop.app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not track you across sites. For each page view Cloudflare records the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, and your country. Kingpin Apps sees only totals, not individual visitors. To serve the site and protect it from abuse, Cloudflare also handles your IP address, as any web host does; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. The app's downloads and the old site address are served by GitHub, under GitHub's privacy statement.
Your rights
Kingpin Apps holds no personal data about you from the app, and only the visit totals above from this website, which do not identify you. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted; we will answer within 30 days. In the Cayman Islands you can also complain to the Ombudsman, and in the EU or UK to your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
